The world is new, so perfect and young,
A vision so clear, of what I'll become.
Grassy meadows and streams, are all I can see,
And a sparkling white castle, my dream, calling me.
The road laid in marble, welcomes my stride,
So clean and well cut, I am my own guide.
A trip-less adventure, it all seems so fine,
No impure thoughts even dwell in my mind.
And then in mere moments the marble is gone,
Pebbles and stone, now sing their coarse song.
Wearily I watch, each new step hit the ground,
Not sure what to think, of this change in my bound.
Up from the rocks, weeds spurt toward the sky,
Begging me to kiss my innocence good bye.
